You love living at The Glades. So do we. That's exactly why we started this.

If you've been reading our posts, you already know there are some important issues facing our community right now. A reserve fund that needs attention. Rising costs that are affecting condo values. Big decisions about amenities that will shape The Glades for years to come.

And maybe you've been thinking: Someone should do something about this.

That's where The Glades First Alliance comes in. And that's where you come in.

What Is The Glades First Alliance?

We are a group of Glades Golf & Country Club owners — just like you — who believe that every owner in this community deserves to be informed, heard, and represented when important decisions are being made.

We are not a protest group. We are not anti-golf, anti-Board, or anti-anything.

We are pro-Glades. That means we're pro-transparency, pro-smart financial decisions, and pro-amenities that work for all 1,253 units — not just one group of owners.

What Are We Working On?

Right now, The Glades First Alliance is focused on three core issues:

1. Financial Transparency and Reserve Funding

Our reserve fund is at just 20.2% of recommended levels — a $7 million gap. All 11 condo sections are underfunded. We believe the Board should publish a clear, multi-year reserve funding plan so every owner can see the path forward. An underfunded reserve isn't just a financial problem — it directly affects the value of your condo when you go to sell.

2. Smart Amenity Decisions

A proposal is currently before the Board to eliminate The Glades' three dedicated pickleball practice courts and convert the entire space to golf hitting bays. We believe this decision deserves a full, transparent review — including an honest look at what the data says about which amenities protect property values. We're not saying no to golf improvements. We're saying: show us the analysis, consider all the options, and let all owners vote.

3. Governance and Owner Voice

Big decisions about our community should be made with full owner participation — not during off-season months when most owners aren't here, and not based on recommendations from working groups whose composition raises legitimate questions about fairness and balance. Every owner has a right to be heard. We're here to make sure that right is protected.

What Do We Believe In?

At its heart, The Glades First Alliance stands for four things:

·       Transparency — Every owner should have access to the financial information that affects their investment

·       Fairness — Decisions should reflect the interests of all 1,253 units, not just the most vocal group

·       Sound Stewardship — Our community's finances should be managed with the same care you'd apply to your own household budget

·       Informed Voting — When owners are asked to vote on major decisions, they deserve complete, accurate information first

Who Can Join?

Any Glades Golf & Country Club owner who shares these values.

You don't have to be a pickleball player. You don't have to be a financial expert. You don't have to attend every meeting or write letters to the Board.

You just have to care about this community — and want to stay informed.
